Prowess and Glory

Naisha (FN-C), participated in the Independence Day Roller Skating Championship 2024, organized by Mission Skating Academy and Bhartiya Defendo Alliance Association. The event was hosted by Central Academy International School, Dwarka, on 10th August 2024. Competing in the age group of 5, Naisha showcased her skills in Quads, Inline, Gold, Adjustable, and other categories. The championship celebrated young talent in roller skating, promoting fitness and sportsmanship among children.

    ReVogue 2024

    On August 22nd, the OPG World School auditorium hosted ReVogue: A Sustainable Fashion Odyssey, where students celebrated style and sustainability. The event showcased a stunning collection of upcycled and sustainable fashion, emphasizing ethical design and environmental responsibility. Models paraded creative designs, with garments made from eco-friendly fabrics and colors inspired by nature. Accessories like wooden bangles and upcycled ornaments highlighted the theme of renewal. Esteemed guests Anisha Soni, a Delhi High Court advocate and former model, and Henna Parimoo from Pearl Academy, praised the show, which was enthusiastically received by parents. The event's success was a testament to the students' dedication.

      Aryan Pati of Class 3 E has won a Gold Medal in the National Martial Arts Championship -2024, organised by United World Martial Arts Federation Asia.
      His winning streak continued with a Silver medal for Kata Competition in the same championship!

        Food Distribution Drive

        On 29 August 2024, ten students from Classes 10, 11, and 12 of OPG World School participated in their second food distribution drive at Second Innings, located in Sector-8, Dwarka. This initiative, centered on supporting the elderly, provided the students with another opportunity to demonstrate empathy, kindness, and generosity by directly engaging in the distribution of meals to those in need. Their continued involvement further deepened their understanding of social responsibility and the powerful impact that acts of compassion can have on the community.

          Reyaansh Leekha Shines at Hindi Pustak Charcha

          We are delighted to share that Reyaansh Leekha from OPG World School achieved 2nd place in the esteemed Inter-School Hindi Pustak Charcha competition held on August 24th. Hosted by Queen Valley School and featuring 18 participating schools, the event highlighted Reyaansh's exceptional reading and analytical abilities. His impressive discussion on Tejasvi Maan by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam earned him this notable accolade. Our school celebrates Reyaansh's success and looks forward to his continued achievements.

            Girls Forum

            Tanisha Pati from Class 10th won Gold Medal (1 st Position)in the "National Martial Arts Championship -2024" under United World Martial Arts Federation Asia.

            During this National event , Tanisha also got an opportunity to meet Mr. Vidyut Jammwal(Bollywood Actor) who showered words of appreciation for her performance during the show.

            Nevertheless, Tanisha also  expressed her gratitude for the school for motivating and supporting her to perform her best!

              Global Youth Summit 2024

              Spark Tank Competition at the Global Youth Summit 2024, held at IIT Delhi witnessed an impressive performance by our students. Team 'Lkiya’- Lakshika Sehrawat, Diya Nirwan and Kanan Sehrawat with their innovative startup idea, emerged victorious with the title of Best Pitch, along with a trophy, medals, a cash prize of ₹5000, and an autobiography of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Second position in the same competition was bagged by Dhanya Sangwan; whose eco-friendly startup idea of crafting school ID cards from bamboo  was both thoughtful and timely. Congratulations to all winners!

                OPG Students Excel in DELF A1 Junior Exam

                Three students from OPG World School have achieved remarkable success in the DELF A1 Junior French exam, which took place on July 25, 2024, with results revealed on August 23. This esteemed certification, granted by the French Ministry of Education, validates proficiency in French according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, underscoring its importance. Simone Singh and Adarsh Srivastava from Class X D excelled with scores of 82 and 80, respectively, while Aanya Gulati from Class X C achieved a commendable 77.5. Each student passed with Distinction, a testament to their hard work and the school's commitment to excellence in French language education.

                  Big Wisdom, Big Win

                  Four students from OPG World School participated in the Launchpad event at Mount Carmel School, Dwarka. The team, consisting of Aditya Hooda (XII Science), Radhika Goyal (XII Commerce), Shorrye Verma (XI Commerce), and Bhawya Sharma (XI Humanities), presented an innovative business idea—a sewage system designed to prevent blockages by efficiently collecting waste. Their idea impressed everyone, earning them the first position in the event.

                    Session 1 of Global Youth Forum

                    Session 1: Global Youth Forum
                     
                    Title: Beginning Young: Day 1 of Students-Led Global Youth Forum
                     
                    The first day of the International Youth Forum witnessed over 400 students from more than 50 schools across Victoria and neighboring countries. Among them were eight students from OPG World School of grades 7 and 8, who actively participated in the forum’s structured modules on intercultural communication, identity, leadership, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
                     
                    The sessions were thoughtfully organized into modules, allowing for focused discussions and activities. The host team was highly supportive, encouraging students to share their opinions and contribute meaningfully to the discussions. OPGians represented their school well, engaging in a mini exchange program where they discussed cultures, non-verbal communication, and interacted with peers from an Australian school.
                     
                    The highlight of the session was a talk by 24-year-old changemaker Imogen Kane from Australia who is currently working with UNICEF. She shared her report on SDGs X Youth-led Initiatives, focusing on SDGs 6 (clean water and sanitation), 10 (reduced inequalities), and 13 (climate action). Imogen’s insights on these goals set the stage for the students’ upcoming projects.
                     
                    The students are excited to work in sub-groups on these SDGs, identifying school-based challenges and developing prototypes to address them. The forum will continue to address school-based problems over the next two days.

                      International Youth Forum

                      A group of eight students from OPG World School, from grades 7 and 8, are representing their school at an International Youth Forum organised by the Victorian Department of Education, Australia. 
                      There are students from 55 schools  from all over the world including India, Shanghai, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and Australia, who are participating in the online forums being held on the 26th, 27th, and 30th of August 2024. During the forum, the students will work on identifying school-related challenges based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event took place on August 10th at Central Academy International School, Dwarka. Reyan’s impressive performance highlights his dedication and skill in roller skating.                               Our Rhetorical Warrior

                              On 23rd August 2024, St. Mark’s Sr Sec Public School, Janakpuri, hosted the final round of the Inter-School Debate Competition ‘IDEOLOGUE’. The motion at hand was ‘Stringent Regulations on OTT Platforms is Imperative to Prevent the Erosion of Societal Values’. 
                              17 schools from across Delhi participated and engaged in a thought-provoking discussion. 
                              We are thrilled to announce that Vaishnavi Sharma, XII D, claimed the second runner up position in ‘Against the motion’ category. Vaishnavi demonstrated outstanding eloquence, and a strong command over her arguments. Congratulations & keep it up!

                                Reyansh’s Victory in Zonals

                                तत्काल शब्दों के रण में,
                                रेयांश लीखा, कक्षा सातवीं के विद्यार्थी ने अपने अद्भुत प्रदर्शन से ओ.पी.जी स्कूल को गौरवान्वित किया। छात्र ने हिंदी अचिंतित
                                (Extempore) क्षेत्रीय प्रतियोगिता में दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया, जिसमें लगभग 100 से भी अधिक स्कूलों ने भाग लिया। यह प्रतियोगिता 13 अगस्त को संचालित की गई व इस प्रतियोगिता में रेयांश को विषयआज के युग में कम्प्यूटर पर निर्भरता, कितना उचित ?' मिला। छात्र ने अपनी बौद्धिक, वैचारिक व तार्किक कौशल का परिचय देते हुए ओ.पी.जी की उपलब्धियों की सूची में अपना नाम अंकित किया।

                                  Bhevin Sharma, representing OPG World School, Dwarka, clinched the gold medal at the Independence Day Roller Skating Championship 2024. The event, organized by Mission Skating Academy and Bhartiya Defendo Alliance Association, was hosted at Central Academy International School, Sector-10, Dwarka, on August 10th. Competing in both the Quads and Inline categories, Bhevin showcased exceptional skills, bringing pride to his school and adding another achievement to his skating career.

                                        Take good care of your heart today for a better tomorrow.

                                        On 12th August, a presentation was held by the school nurse, Ms Poonam for Class V students on the working of the  sphygmomanometer, an instrument used for measuring blood pressure and the stethoscope which is used to measure the heartbeat. The nurse displayed live demonstrations of how blood pressure and heart beat are measured and their significance. The problems associated with high and low blood pressure were also discussed. The students were intrigued and asked a lot of questions.

                                          On August 9, 2024, Paramount International School hosted the interschool competition ARCADIA-2024, focusing on a healthy planet. Mihika Sinha (Class VD) and Mannat Sidhu (Class VE) secured second place in “My Sustainable Dream City” with a 3D model using eco-friendly materials. They highlighted sustainability’s role in combating climate change. Congratulations to little change makers!

                                              Commendable performance

                                              Students of OPG World School in junior category bagged  IInd position at the "Art of Science" event organised by Mount Carmel School, Anand Niketan. Siddhi Shinde and Siddhant Shinde of class VII D brought laurels with this achievement Their artifacts showcased sources of renewable energy. Added on to this,Zyana Thakur and Irene Libish Abraham of class VIII C secured second position in symposium at the sub-junior level on the topic of "Applications of Trigonometry in real life." They explained the use of  trigonometry's in various fields, including space exploration. For "famous architectural designs worldwide, and historical connections in archaeology". Rakshita Aravind and Hritvi Rajpal of class X won third  prize at junior levels. In the event symposium on the topic “ cricket by numbers “. Tanmay Chopra XI C and Aditya Hooda of XII D won third position in Senior category during the exhibition where they made a room heating system using steam- The hypocaust! This achievement showcases their scientific acumen, and and hard work!!

                                                Food Distribution Drive

On August 8, 2024, they joined the NGO’s weekly food distribution drive, helping to deliver meals to those in need.                                                   OPG students recently made a remarkable impact at the Model United Nations (MUN) hosted by Shree Ram School, Moulsari. Representing various countries, they showcased impressive skills in diplomacy, knowledge, and teamwork. Their hard work was rewarded with several accolades: Meherpreet Singh Sodhi (11 Commerce), Bhavya Sharma (11 Humanities), Harshaan Singh Sidhu (9D), and Kayeshaa Bhan (12 Humanities) received Verbal Mentions for their outstanding performances. Devansh Sharma (7D) was honored as the "Most Promising Delegate" for his exceptional leadership, while Dhanya Sangwan (12 Humanities) earned a Special Mention for her impressive contributions.                                                     On August 5, 2024, CA Abhishek Aneja, a distinguished member of the Rotary Club, conducted an informative session for students in grades IX to XII, adhering to the guidelines and framework of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The session delved into the fundamentals of accounting and finance, outlining key topics such as eligibility criteria, job opportunities, and related coursework.                                                         In a remarkable achievement, our students Abeer Kushwah (XII), Aditya Panda (XII), Prithvi Verma (XII) and Shreshta De (XII) have secured the first prize in Multimedia Competition held at Vasant Valley School.

                                                          Pioneers in Sports and Mental Health Technology!

                                                          Nakshatra Mahendroo, an 8th-grade student from India, is a remarkable young creator and innovator. He has developed the Agrobot, a specialized robot designed to enhance sports training, particularly for Rifle Shooting. In addition, he is working on an innovative app for stress management, which helps users assess their stress levels and provides methods for alleviation. At just 13 years old, he has an impressive list of innovations to his credit, with many more projects in development. His achievements make India proud of its young innovators and creators.
